I've been working on a portrait of a family member in vertex, and as I do this, I have been timing myself, wanting to know how long it would take me. For many reasons. How much money to ask in commissions? Practice, since my first one, my profile picture, took me 5 hours. I'm 2 hours in. I have the base for the hair and face. The shades for the skin and lips are done, and I'm almost done with the eyes. I look at it, and think I'm done. Not. True. I see many other things incomplete. The hair? Yes.
